All Groups meet at the Children's Center.
Sexual Abuse Counseling Group for Young Girls
Clinician referred group counseling for girls ages 8 through 11. Meets weekly as part of the client clinical program. The girls discuss feelings and sexual abuse issues in a child-friendly manner and environment, on an as requested basis.
Sexual Abuse Counseling Group for Teen Girls
Girls Self-Esteem Program Group
Clinician referred group of teen girls ages 13–18. This therapy group brings together teen clients who have been sexually molested to share their feelings and support one another in a group setting. This is facilitated by a therapist who leads the group about expected feelings and coping strategies regarding struggles, typical teen issues, successes, concerns and fears. This group focuses on safety and education tools to prevent further abuse, and to enhance personal empowerment. The group meets weeks on Wednesdays from 3pm to 4pm.
Boys Conflict/Anger Management Group
Clinician referred group of boys ages 7–11; meets Thursdays 3 pm to 4 pm. An adaptation of the Center's in-school Conflict/Anger Management program, a clinician guides the boys through ways to understand and to recognize what anger and conflict are, how to recognize signs of anger, how to manage anger and the life-time benefits of anger and conflict identification and management, on an as requested basis.
Adults Molested as Children (AMAC)
Open to the public and parents of BSCC clients. Meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4 pm to 5 pm. Adults who were molested when children discuss challenges, including their daily struggles, how childhood abuse may have affected their adult lives and sharing feelings about moving forward.
